This web site (www.willowsnursery.co.uk) is the introduction to our nursery. From here you can visit our dedicated Hardy Cyclamen, Living Willow, Dwarf and Common Box sites. We also have a separate secure on line shop through which you may purchase our products. Alternatively you can telephone us to place your order or print and post an order form from the dedicated sites.
LIVING WILLOW
We have our own stock plants for propagation, and our own willow beds provide cuttings of our best varieties of ‘functional’, weaving and ornamental willows - for you to grow windbreaks, attractive garden plants or to provide your own weaving material - and long willow whips, for you to create your own living willow structures and living willow sculptures. We also offer Willow whips in ‘kit’ form. These Willow kits contain all the whips needed to easily construct living willow domes, bowers, ‘fedges’, wigwams and much more. All come with complete instructions to simply construct these kits in a very short period of time. To visit our Living Willow site . .

HARDY CYCLAMEN
All our cyclamen are grown here at the nursery from our own seed. They are not “forced” for a quick turn-over but are grown slowly to produce firm corms (not full of water). This way they transplant without suffering. Our collections of corms are particularly good value and can give a ‘drift’ of flowers in season (the best way to see them). Our corms are often twice as old as others offered, and will have flowered at least one year here at Willows. They can live for over 100 years so a good start is essential. We send out orders bare-rooted and by First Class Post normally within 4 working days. To visit our Hardy Cyclamen site . . .

DWARF BOX PLANTS
DWARF BOX [Buxus Sempervirens ‘Nana’, also known as Suffruticosa]. Our Dwarf Box plants are raised in nursery beds and despatched bare-rooted by First Class Post or Carrier, as appropriate. We sell plants that are a minimum of 7 to 10 cm (3 to 4”) high. After several years growing and propagating we now have enough stock plants and ‘growing-on’ small plants to satisfy demand. We also offer rooted cuttings for growing on in a cold frame or similar for a year before planting out, thus offering an economical way to obtain a larger planting. The rooted cuttings are despatched September to January only. Please phone for details. To visit our dedicated dwarf box site . . .

COMMON BOX PLANTS
COMMON BOX [Buxus Sempervirens] Our Common Box plants are raised in nursery beds and will be despatched bare-rooted by First Class Post or Carrier, as appropriate, in the spring and autumn. We originally concentrated on Dwarf Box plants, but have found that there is a similar demand for the, relatively, more vigorous Common Box plants, which are more suited to larger hedging and topiary designs than Buxus Sempervirens Suffruticosa. So, we are now propagating from our own stock plants, and have a limited number of plants that are a minimum of 12.5 to 20 cm (5 to 8”) high available. We have more plants growing on and intend to take more cuttings in the future to increase availability in line with Dwarf Box. To visit our dedicated common box site . . .

ABOUT US
Willows Nursery is a small nursery owned and run by us - Les & Anne Cordes. The name for the nursery came from a weeping willow originally here on the bare field site when we arrived with a long-term plan to grow a million Hardy Cyclamen corms to sell by Mail Order !
We soon realised that we needed wind-breaks to protect our greenhouses & shadehouses (our site is very exposed). We invested in Willow cuttings to cure that problem -- BUT -- then we realised just how varied interesting and useful willow is . . . ! So the Willow side of the nursery was born.
At the same time Anne expanded her interest in Knot Gardens although at the moment we only offer Dwarf Box (Buxus Sempervirens ‘Nana’ (Suffruticosa )) and Common Box (Buxus Sempervirens) plants for sale.
Whatever your interest, we offer top quality plants, all of which have been grown here at our Nursery by ourselves. None are bought in.
Please contact us if you need any details or information that you cannot find on the web sites.
